The first toy replica of the SDF-1 Macross was made by Takatoku Toys during the original series' run. It completely resembled its anime counterpart, but with the addition of landing gear on the underside of its ship mode. This toy was imported into the U.S. by Matchbox in 1985 as part of the Robotech line. A smaller version of the SDF-1 Macross toy was imported to the Convertors toy line in the 1980s as a Maladroid character.
Released in 1985 by Takatoku Toys, this vintage figure comes complete with all of its accessories still attached to the sprue, paperwork, and box. The figure is in great condition, the stickers have been applied, but have stood the test of time (especially for a figure that is well over 30 years old). The box itself is in very good condition, and the foam tray even includes the to foam bars that hold the figure in place. There is a small scuff in the foam tray where the shoulder towers have rubbed against it, but nothing that will detract from the overall displayability of the figure.
I'm not overly familiar with this figure, so if you have any questions please feel free to ask them, I will answer them to the best of my ability. The only price reference I could find for this figure is an eBay listing for $900.00, a bit high in my opinion, so I figured that this would be a good starting point; offers are always welcome.
