Uniqlo & Medicom: A Look at the Be@rbrick x UT Spring 2014 Collaboration

After getting a small taste for Be@rbrick figures about a year ago, I’ve gone deep down the rabbit hole… like deep-deep, too deep, borderline obsessed… I wish I were kidding lol. With this post I want to take a look at one of the smaller collaborations that Medicom did with the popular clothing brand Uniqlo.

Following the success of a similar collabo in 2013, Uniqlo & Medicom Toys decided to team up again for another collaboration. Uniqlo’s Spring ’14 line featuring 12 Be@rbrick themed t-shirts, with eight limited edition figures inspired by the shirt’s designs. Released on June 16th, these figures were available exclusively at Uniqlo stores, and were given away at random to people who purchased two or more Be@rbrick graphic T’s. These 70% bears were not available for individual purchase and were given away at random, meaning there was no guarantee that they would even match the shirts purchased.

With names like Pocket, Dots, & Arm Stripe, the creative team behind these weren’t very “creative” with their naming of these figures. They are cool non the less, and make a neat addition to the collection. Below are pictures of each that we borrowed from the official Medicom site… so no, we didn’t make those names up in an attempt to be humorous lol.
