Bearbrick AKB48: Rina Konno

Released in July 2010, the AKB48 series were exclusively available in 7-Eleven store in Japan. The figure comes in opened condition with tight joints and good paint applications. AKB48 is a highly successful Japanese idol girl group. They are named after the Akihabara area in Tokyo, where they perform in their own theater. The group was formed on December 8, 2005, by producer Yasushi Akimoto. The core concept is “idols you can meet,” meaning fans can see them perform live in their dedicated theater almost daily. AKB48 has sold more records than any other female musical act in Japanese history, becoming the best-selling female group in J-Pop history by 2012. The group’s lineup often changes as members “graduate” and new members are promoted from trainee status. The number “48” was originally an approximation for the number of members. The figure originally came to us in a sealed bag, however it was opened to take photographs.
