Machine Robo: Land Commander 5 (Unreleased Gobots Nemisis). Much like their competitor brand Transformers, GoBots also originated in Japan under another name; Machine Robo. After being imported and rebranded as GoBots by Tonka, many Machine Robo figures saw release in the United States either as a simple repackage, or slightly re-colored. Land Commander 5 was originally intended to be released as “Nemesis” under the Gobots banner (even appearing in some advertisements), but for unknown reasons this release never happened. This Machine Robo release is a must for any GoBots collector, and compliments the other Power Suit sets perfectly.
The figure itself is in good shape, however there is some slight discoloration on the gray plastic. The figure was quite dusty when we received it so we gave it a quick wipe down with a damp cloth, but it could use a detailed cleaning as we weren’t able to get into all of the nooks & crannies. During the wipe down process we noticed that the small gray guns that attach to it’s feet were stuck. They swivel as they’re supposed to, but detaching them required more force than we were comfortable using. NOT INCLUDED are the scope for the blaster and the missiles. The missiles are exactly the same as the ones that come with the Japanese & European versions of the regular Power Suits, and should be easy enough to replace. The box & foam are in great shape, but do show some signs of wear due to age/storage, but will still display superbly if you choose to keep it boxed.
