Transformers Commemorative Series: Grapple (Toys-R-Us Exclusive)
Autobot Grapple (2004)
Grapple was reissued by Hasbro in 2004 as part of the Generation One Commemorative Series VI. The spring-loaded firing mechanisms in his arms were completely removed due to safety reasons.
Additionally, his crane-arm hook and hydraulics were changed to unpainted silver plastic, rather than using the more brittle (but authentic to the original release) vacuum-metalized plastic. He also gained a new Autobot logo tampograph on his chest/cab, and his eyes were changed from yellow to blue.
In a rarity for the line, Commemorative Series Grapple was a Hasbro-initiated release, as there was no Takara The Transformers Collection Grapple reissue to use.
